Individual Therapy for Adults
Sometimes you need a place to slow down and get quiet with yourself. Individual therapy helps you do so. What are you thinking, feeling and desiring for your life? You may not know the answers to these questions because you are moving too fast. Therapy is a place to slow down and pay attention. My job, as the therapist, is to help you listen carefully to yourself and unearth the layers to your desires. You may wish to focus on setting goals, solving problems, or gaining new skills. When you come to individual therapy, you can choose the focus.
Client Issues
Since 2005, I have worked with many different client issues including relationship challenges, stress management, communication skills, boundary setting, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, navigating life transitions, and personal growth. In individual therapy, my way of working is to help clients cultivate their own healing resources.
Modes of Treatment
Mindfulness, cognitive behavioral tools, and experiential modes of practice in a warm and supportive setting are some of the ways I help my clients in individual therapy. I am EMDR trained and use this mode of treatment to help clients heal from trauma. I have a deep respect for how vulnerable one might feel having taken the step to seek help and therefore am very conscious of letting clients set the pace of the healing work.
